There was a discovery of the ruins of the village. This led to the creation of Thomson Nature Park. The former village housed Hainanese immigrants in the 1930s. By the 60s, almost a hundred residents of diverse cultural backgrounds called the village home. However, the residents vacated the village in the 1980s, and the secondary forest reclaimed the abandoned agricultural land.
